Architecture Portfolio

Project Overview

After attending the University of Carleton's Summer Architecture Studio from May - June of 2023, I began creating my own portfolio to apply to Master's programs.

The following portfolio granted me admission in the Architecture Master’s Programs of the University of Toronto, Carleton University and University of British Columbia in 2024.

The majority of this project was created through Canva, Procreate and Figma for formatting. I was also able to pick-up a bit of Photoshop for photo editing and Rhino to model some of my ideas.
Project number one was enjoyable because it encouraged me to be imaginative and speculative while also consistent in the details of the story. I think both being able to generate ideas and also being realistic are skills that can extend to numerous projects.
Project two is arguably the most playful out of the five, not demanding much realism just imagination and rough construction. Chronologically this was the first project that the Carleton Studio had us do to awaken once again our child like imagination from the monotony of the world.
This personal project captures how I feel to have both a place of work and relaxation in the same idea. These days I am unable to work in my room because it feels like a place of rest (and business), previously it was opposite.
Project number four encouraged me to do a lot of research into the history of spite houses and allowed me to play with form in the many ways a house could be represented. This is done in the neighbourhood map collage/drawing, the drawing of the real life street is it currently on and the timeline of its construction within the story of the two brothers.
Project number 5 allowed me to put my skills into a real life context rather than one that is more speculative. I noticed an issue in my community that would benefit from some form of entrance modification and tried to explore it further.
